When people see me, they always seem to ask Dad the same questions, so here are the most commonly asked questions with my answers:
What is he?
I am a Briard, a sort of French equivalent of an Old English Sheepdog.
Is he friendly?
Yes, I love being made a fuss of, but on my terms. I don't like people who are in my face and much prefer to be ignored. I'll soon come over and say hello and I'll always let you know if you're not paying me enough attention.
He's a horse! You could ride him!
No I'm not and no you couldn't because when I run my ears flap so much that you'd have two black eyes when you got off.
Is he fully grown?
Well, my shoulders are 30" off the ground now, so Dad certainly hopes so.
Does he moult?
No, Briards don't shed their coat. It just grows longer and longer until someone takes me to the groomers to have it all shaved off. That happens about once a year and that person stops being my friend until I choose to forgive them.
Can he see with all that fur over his eyes?
Yes, I can see just fine and no, I don't want a scrunchie, although I have been known to run into the odd tree or lamppost that got in my way.
Does he need lots of exercise?
I love to go for walks and running with other dogs, especially when I get the chance to show off how good I am at barking. I love running alongside Dad when he's on his bike and he tells me we've got up to 19mph on a couple of occasions. My absolute favourite activity, though, is sleeping and I'm very, very good at it.
